CONGRESS GENERAL INFORMATION

Badge

Each participant and accompanying person will receive a name badge and individual documentation at the registration desk.  To pick up the Congress documentation, participants are required to address  the respective counter and present the “Pick up Badge” document.

 

The name badge is your ticket to access the meeting rooms, exhibition pavilions and booked activities. Neither exhibitors nor accompanying persons are permitted to attend the scientific sessions. Admission to the Congress will not be allowed without badge identification.

 

For forgotten badges, a day pass at a cost of € 25.00 will be issued. Lost badges will be reissued for a handling fee of € 30.00.

 

Catering Facilities

Catering is not included in the registration fees.  However different catering outlets will be available throughout the exhibition pavilions as marked on the floor plans.  These outlets will sell water, juices, coffee and different types of light and finger food. Direct access with money will not be possible; tickets may be purchased throughout the exhibition pavilions in specific booths.

The Congress centre also has a restaurant offering a buffet lunch at a very reasonable price. The menu of the day will be on display.

 

Certificate of Attendance

All registered participants will receive a certificate of attendance with their Congress documentation.

 

Cloakroom and Luggage

The cloakroom is located on the ground floor (Foyer A) opposite the Registration desks.

CME Kiosk and eLearning Station

The CME desk as well as the eLearning Station is located in Foyer F.

 

Congress Registration

Registration is only valid if full payment of the Congress fee as well as for other services booked has been made.  An on-site registration counter will be opened during the entire Congress and during the official registration opening hours.  For on-site registration, only payment by credit card or cash will be accepted. When registering at lower fees, participants are requested to present proof of status. 

 

During the Congress the registration desk, at the Foyer C of the Congress Centre, will be open as follows:

Congress Bag

 

Each participant will receive a Congress bag to be picked up from the appropriate desk in the Registration Area. Please present the “Congress Bag Voucher” at the Congress Bag Desk to receive your bag. It contains the Final Programme, Abstract CD-Rom voucher, notepad, pen and other useful information on the city and the exhibitors.

In case of emergency, please contact the general information desk in the tent or call the emergency number. By dialling 112 the emergency services  will respond to your immediate needs.

 

Exhibition

The exhibition is situated in Pavilions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 and in the tent outside the Congress venue. 

 

The exhibition will open to participants at the following times:

Insurance / Liability Disclaimer

The Organisers cannot be held liable for any hindrance or disruption of the Congress arising from political, social or economic events or any other unforeseen incidents beyond their control. The Organisers will not be liable for any personal injuries sustained or for loss or damage to property belonging to Congress participants, either during or as a result of the Congress or during all tours and events.  Registration of a participant entails acceptance of these conditions.

 

Internet Access – Wi-Fi

Wireless internet access for your computer (Wi-Fi) is provided in the tent. Please select the network “EADV” and confirm the password “EADV2011”.

 

Language of the Congress

English will be the official language of the Congress. There will be no simultaneous translation.

 

Lost and Found

The lost and found desk is located on the ground floor, in the Registration area.

 

Message Desk

The message desk will be located in the main entrance of the LCC (Foyer B).

 

Mobile Phones

The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the scientific session rooms.  Please make sure to switch off your mobile phone before entering the room.

 

Smoking

The 20th EADV Congress is a no smoking Congress. Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the LCC.

 

Speakers Lounge

There will be a Speakers Lounge located in room 1.10 (first floor). Please wear your badge visibly as status will be checked at the entrance.

 

Transportation

Each registered participant and accompanying person will be given a transportation card that gives the 20th EADV Congress participants the possibility of using the Lisbon transportation services (metro, bus, tram services, elevators and cable cars) from Friday, October 21 to Monday,  October 24. Please make sure you carry your ticket all time. The ticket will only be provided to full Congress registrants. Lost tickets and/or passes will not be replaced or refunded.

 

A special bus service will connect the “Cais do Sodré” metro station with the Congress Centre.  Please check with the Congress staff who are ready to help participants  find the buses.

 

Participants staying at the Congress hotels can also obtain at the hotel reception desks information on the best transportation available to reach the Congress Centre.
