Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The EADV has rarely returned to the same city to hold a second annual congress. In October 2011 we are returning to the historic city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal and the venue of the 5th EADV Congress in 1996, a truely outstanding event. Fifteen years will have passed before our congress revisits Lisbon, but those of us who attended the 1996 EADV Congress still have fond memories of the welcome we received from the Portugese dermatologists and the excellent standard of the Congress organisation at that time.

The 20th EADV Congress in Lisbon 2011 promises to be even better! An outstanding Scientific Programme has been put together by Professor Picoto and his local Scientific Committee in conjunction with the Scientific Committee of the EADV chaired by Professor Borradori. Leading dermatologists from throughout Europe will be speaking on their topics of expertise as well as many invited speakers from other continents. They will combine to ensure that this Congress will provide the attendee with the “State of the Art” of Dermatovenereology in 2011. There will be multiple Symposia, Workshops and Focus Sessions covering the major topics in dermatology and venereology, as well as meetings of sister societies, such as the ESDR, a joint EADV/AAD Symposium, and the reunion of many European Subspeciality Groups.

For those accompanying persons whose interests lie outside the Congress Centre Lisbon offers all the attractions of a beautiful and historic European capital city. With its famous architecture, wonderful museums, safe and friendly atmosphere and interesting cuisine Lisbon will  provide both cultural and educational stimulation to the Congress attendee.
