SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION



> Oral Presentations
Computer projection facilities (PowerPoint presentations) will be available in the meeting rooms. Presenting authors will receive all technical information and instructions prior to and during the Congress in order to ensure the smooth running of sessions.


> Session Types
Sessions of different formats will cover all fields of Dermatology and Venereology. Subjects will be treated with different approaches and from different perspectives.

The following sessions will be scheduled throughout the duration of the Congress:

- Courses including sessions with live patients
- Symposia, Workshops, Discussion Forums, Focus Sessions, Test Yourself Sessions, Controversies, What’s New and Plenary Lectures
- Short Presentations of selected Posters and Free Communications in thematic sessions


Symposia, Workshops, Discussion Forums, Test Yourself Sessions, Controversies, What’s New and Plenary Lectures are available to all registered participants.



> Free Communications

Abstracts selected for oral communication will be delivered at appropriate thematic sessions during the mornings and afternoons, from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 October.
The authors will have 7 minutes for presentation + 2 minutes for discussion. Presenting authors will receive all technical information and details prior to the Congress.


> E-Posters

Accepted posters will be submitted electronically via the Congress website. Authors will receive all technical information and details prior to the Congress.
Poster viewing will be accessible from computer monitors at the Comgress centre throughout the entire duration. Posters can be viewed sequentially by number or submission topic or searched individually by title, key word or author.

The authors of the posters that were most highly ranked by the Scientific Committee are invited to provide a short oral presentation during thematic presentation sessions.
They will have 4 minutes for oral presentation (a short PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 5 slides) + 2 min for discussion. These short thematic presentations will be held from Friday 21 to Sunday 23, October in the mornings and afternoons.


> Focues Session

 These sessions will be held on Friday 21 October (FS01 to FS05), Saturday 22 October (FS06 to FS10) and Sunday 23 October (FS11 to FS15) with a maximum of 50 participants per session. Acceptance will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Cost per session is € 35, lunch box included


> Courses

Courses will be held in the mornings and afternoons, during the following Congress days:

CO01 to CO08 - Friday 21 October

CO09 to CO14 - Saturday 22 October

CO15 to CO19 - Sunday 23 October
The majority of these courses will have a maximum of 150 participants per session, with exception of the CO01, CO02, CO07 and CO18 where the maximum number of participants will be around 350. Acceptance will be made on a first-come, first served basis.

Cost per course is €25

 


> Live course Sessions

CL01 (Skin Rejuvenation) - 22 October, Saturday morning

CL02 (Classical Advanced Dermatological Surgery) - 22 October, Saturday afternoon

CL03 (Lasers in Dermatology) -  23 October, Sunday morning

 

Live procedures will take place at the “Hospital da Luz”, with direct transmission from the operating room. Chairs will comment on the procedures and encourage audience participation. Transportation will be provided from and to the Congress centre and details will be included in the participants’ individual documentation.

Attendance is for physicians only.

There will be a maximum of 60 participants for each course. Cost per course is € 40.


> Registration
At least one author (the first or the presenting author) must register for the Congress within one month after having received notification of acceptance. The abstract will otherwise be withdrawn from the programme.
